Absolutes

Is an absolute absolutely necessary? Why is there an urge to be judgmental about things and have binary opinions, when there are so many shades of grey?
Is there a tendency to believe things prima facie, or we tend to believe the existing faiths, beliefs rules and laws as the natural order of things.
The 'rights' the 'wrongs', the 'goods' and the 'bads' are often used to make a judgement call. Ok! fair enough!...... one has to make a judgement.. because any choice, or any decision one makes is based on this judgement.
But my point of contention is ..why do we consider our judgement as an absolute treatment of a 'subject'. Is a right...... an 'absolute' right? Our hindu marriage act endorses monogamy..and even we have been always taught that a man should be like Lord Rama..who was completely devoted to his wife....and a righteous dude would be devoted to his wife for 7 births..(yeah right!)....
But isn't man by nature has been polygamous...his natural tendency to look for potential mates to spread his genes..even some tribes in rajasthan authorize polygamy...there are many instances of polygamy in hindu mythology and some religions too support it...
...A dusky person...would be a 'gori chamdi' in africa, a prohibition in one country would be a
legal right in another.....A rectangle, a circle and triangle would all appear to be a straight line..when viewed parallel to their length(in 2 dimensions)
So is it possible that our perception is three dimensional...when we actually are living in a four dimensional world???
..Is it right to say something is 'right' (the statement is oxymoron!!)..just because things have been like that...! or are we scared to question a 'belief'...or we just follow the herd..isn't it possible we are just living in a matrix.
Matrix as Morpheous mentioned...
"The Matrix is all around us. Its the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth that you are a slave in a prison that you cannot smell, taste or touch. A prison for your mind. No one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself."
The arguments to what constitutes absolutes and relatives would always continue
Is the supreme power.. the only absolute 'truth'..... and his form, gender, names are customized for many religions..being their 'relative truth'....
May be not...the absolutes might be reposed with the atheists and the agnostics.....or there might be another fourth dimension to it..

Absolutely true...
Oh sorry am i being absolute again... no i am not supposed to behave so.. but then when I am not supposed to behave so i fall into another spectrum of.... ahem Absolute :)
So if Being absolute (or not being one) itself commands committing to one. So how does one justify committing to either and if you do not what do you do. In this case you either do or you don't...
I know you are utterly confused and so am i. You have the absolute right to do so (oh sorry to not do so or better to not do either)

"Better not to do anything"...as in not making a judgment call, would be very diplomatic..and when it comes to making choices, there is no option of opting out. I agree, if you refute anything, invariably you accept the second option.
I don't corroborate the fact that any judgment thats based on any absolute is wrong.(saying something as wrong would be another absolute :D). One definitely has to make a decision, a choice which might be either extremes of the absolutes

My proposition is, we shouldn't consider this judgment call as the correct treatment of the subject. Many theories of physics which were propounded, were refuted later. Copernicus said earth was at the center of the world, which Galileo negated. We thought atom is most elementary for of matter, which were replaced by protons mesons etc.
We perceive things as they are felt by our senses, ..one might be blind from birth.. it doesn't mean that the world is dark(another absolute). Of course, he has to comment on it, if he is at a juncture of choice...I just want him to not rely on his judgment and be open to "nearer to truth" ideas

point taken. But i still think "absolute" is less because of choice but because of lack of it. And the use (and not use) of absolute should be to the extent where it opens you to the possibilities rather than closing it because you do not have a definitive answer. I suppose you are trying to say the same thing but in your own words (cliches just flow, i can't help ;p)
